One reason to get outside?
Connecting to nature, means stripping back all the excess. When I am outside, I am able to connect to who I truly am and what is really important. The silence and the stillness gives clarity. Connect to nature, connect to yourself.

One bit of advice you’ll always remember?
If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. Reality is what you make it so go out and create the reality that you want to live. You never know what opportunity is waiting for you to find it.

One tip to share with budding outdoorsists?
Start small and if available to you, go with people who are more experienced. Also, share gear!! Sharing gear helps take away some of the overwhelm and makes adventures more financially accessible.

One time you felt out of your comfort zone?
That time I arrived at camp for a 3-month tree planting stint in Canada. I looked at my tent, surrounded by a bear proof (knee high electric) fence, knowing that for the next 3 months I would be working hard laborious days, exposed to all weather conditions, working mostly alone, only to arrive home to my thin, blow-up mattress and a cold shower. Yeah, you can say I felt outside of my comfort zone. Although, one month in when we got relocated to a motel, we were all fighting against the move and I actually missed my tent! Go figure! 

One thing you love to eat outdoors?
Okay, there is NOTHING like a hot tea or coffee at the top of a mountain at sunrise, or at the end of the day once back at camp.

Home is where the heart is!
