Elise is a natural-born athlete with an unshakable passion for the outdoors. Based in Bright, Victoria, she thrives on adventure, whether it’s highlining above breathtaking landscapes, hiking rugged trails, trail running through alpine terrain, or scaling rock faces. No matter the activity, she always rounds out her time in nature with a refreshing cold soak in a nearby stream—her ultimate way to reset and recharge.

One reason to get outside?
To get a clear mind and a fresh perspective, always feel better once you've gone outside

One thing you never forget to pack for an adventure (and why)?
Gas! After meeting someone and deciding to go up Mount Bogong we sorted our gear together and let her know I had her covered for cooking and that she could leave hers at home. After a big day hiking uphill, we made it to the hut ready to tuck into soup and dinner to warm ourselves back up only to find I had my jetboil but no gas...

One tip to share with budding outdoorsists?
Just keep getting amongst it! I found it can be daunting doing things for the first time, meeting people who you haven't met, and trying what you don't yet know you're capable of doing but that's where not only the growth comes but also the community and where through conversations new ideas and the people that feed your stoke to do what you dream of doing.

One time you felt out of your comfort zone?
I've learnt to love being outside my comfort zone and one of the things that pushes me out of my comfort zone is highlining and learning to walk alongside the fear I feel while on a line that is so far above ground.

One thing you love to eat outdoors?
There's so many things but one thing I love tucking into after a big day out is pesto pasta with olives and sundried tomatoes and mushrooms

One reason there’s no place like home?
Because there's nothing like getting to know all the hidden gems, winding trails and secret spots in your own backyard.
