Sun-protection gear you'll actually want to wear.
Balancing airflow and sun-protection, this super-lightweight shirt keeps things breezy without compromising coverage for long days out.
How Daylight™ works
Lightweight sun-protection: solved.

UPF50+ sun protection
The sun hits the fabric, not your skin. UPF50+ is the top rating and blocks at least 98% of UV. Across your upper arms, shoulders and torso.
Airflow
When the summer sun calls for coverage and the heat calls for maximum airflow, this short-sleeve shirt strikes the balance.
Longer-cut sleeves
They're cut a little longer on purpose so they cover more of your arms.
How it fits
Unisex relaxed fit.

Why we made it
Designed for the days we move unimpeded
There is a version of ourselves that only shows up outside. Lighter, breezier, present in the moment. It turns up somewhere between sunrise and when the phone signal drops out, nothing but the winding trail ahead. Our Daylight™ range is built to help amplify that feeling: deliberately light, breathable, and gently protective against all-day sun.
The sun-protective kit we engineered for ourselves
In Australian conditions the story's all too familiar: sun-protective gear left us feeling hot, stiff, and dressed for safari; and breathable, lightweight kit offered no sun protection at all. Nothing looked good enough to take us from ridgeline mornings to cafe afternoons. So we embarked on a 24-month adventure to turn our wish list into a check list for our Daylight™ range.
The fabric test was simple, yet brutal: if we wouldn't choose to put it on in peak summer conditions, it was a fail. After months of rejecting fabric after fabric, in the middle ground between sun-protection and lightness we found a sweet spot. For tees and sun hoodies this sits at UPF34, which in Australia is labelled UPF30+. For button-down shirts, shorts, pants, and dresses we landed at UPF50+, because that's what you need during the longest days chasing the sun.
Tested in the terrains where we love to linger longest
The samples went everywhere we did, from Victorian High Country snowgrass to South Island New Zealand's changeable conditions and harsh UV glare. Overnighters, multi-day walks, and a heap of packrafting, which is a fine way to find out how a fabric dries. Then came the ultimate test: the Cooloola hike in peak Queensland summer, hot, humid, and blazing sunshine. We didn't overheat, everything felt breezy, and we stayed protected.
We could finally say, "Yep, I want to wear these again and again". They felt that good to pull on.
The Technical Short Sleeve Shirt
With our Daylight™ Technical Short Sleeve Shirts we had to nail the best of both worlds between UPF50+ coverage and maximum airflow. The short sleeves and airy stretch fabric allow for unimpeded movement, and we made the arms slightly longer than a standard tee, so you're covered down to the elbow. The recycled nylon/spandex fabric weighs just 189 grams in a size M, and comes with a Polygiene fabric treatment, which we confirmed passes the sniff test even after several days of continuous wear. Just dangle it from the handy hang loop, for drying/airing it out between use.
So, that's the story behind Daylight™. Kit that's light on purpose, made by two people who wanted to stay out a bit longer. We hope it does the same for you.
