This backpack is truly my ideal travel backpack. It can pack to the brim when travelling and fit under **most*** airline under-seat compartments. When emptied, the backpack compresses well to not look too bulky. There’s enough pockets for what I need, and not too many. The laptop compartment is also always helpful. I appreciate the versatility of the backpack.

I have bought this backpack essencially for my 2 weeks trip in Nepal, to have it as a day backpack for long day hikes. And it served!! It served through the dirt, cold, hot, rain. It perfectly fit everything I needed for a day hike (2 liters of water, jacket, fleece, snacks, camera, first aid kit...). The water bladder fitted really nicely on the back (I had bladder for 1 L though). I also really like the little carabiner clip inside the small pouch to secure your keys for example! Really smart!
I am substracting one star only for the one issue I had with the backpack, and it was mostly aesthetical. I would imagine that hiking backpack would have more of a mesh material on the part touching the actual back. The thick material actually made me sweat really fast from the back. Or maybe it could be at least black color on the actual back.. as every time I took off my backpack it was just all wet and dark which just wasn't really pleasant.. Second tiny thing is, it would be nice to have some matching (to the size) waterproof pouch for the backpack! But it isn't necessary of course, just a nice addition :)

The escapade is a dope bag.
Fits under the seat on a plane, looks good on your back when smashing trails. If your a idiot like myself and leave your bag on the floor in Singapore airport when you return 2 weeks later all of your chocolate will still be in tact and not a melted mess due to the awesomeness of the bag.
Only cons is it is not that breathable and your back can become a sweaty mess like Shrieks swamp when bush walking some may call that a pro as then you get to take your shirt off 😉
