The fleece and pants I lived in for 13 days

I just wrapped a 13-day bikepacking and rock climbing trip, from my front door in the Blue Mountains to the Warrumbungles and back. I wore the new Air-Grid Fleece and the Overland Pants every day of it. Here's why they earned a spot in the kit.

#1: It breathes when I'm working hard
They've updated the fabric to something a lot more breathable and lightweight, which is perfect for an active mid-layer. I've been wearing it most mornings hiking and riding without getting sweaty, and it's still genuinely warm.
#2: Burly on the outside, soft grid on the inside
Something a bit more burly on the outside and a much softer, cosy grid fleece against your skin. The front pocket keeps your hands toasty, and there's a zip pocket in the middle with plenty of room for a phone or some snacks.
#3: Stretch for the big steps
A proper technical hiking and rock climbing pant. They offer really good mobility, and there's a great amount of stretch, so high steps and scrambles don't pull at the knee.
#4: One pant for hiking, riding and climbing
I wore them every day for two weeks straight on a hiking, bikepacking and rock climbing trip. They breathe really well on the way up a hill. If you're looking for a really good all-round outdoor pant, this is the one I'd pack.
#5: Zip pockets that sit under a harness
I love the zippered pockets. They fit under the harness really nicely, and they're a great place to keep your phone or some snacks.

How does the Air-Grid Fleece fit?
Relaxed and roomier. The 2.0 cut was re-patterned from scratch, with more room through the torso and arms. Order your regular size. The mens model is 183 cm and wears a size M.
How do the Overland Pants fit?
Regular fit with a straight leg. Choose your usual size, or size up for a more relaxed fit. The inseam is the same across all sizes: 78 cm on the mens and 76 cm on the womens.
What are the Overland Pants made from?
Stretch Double Weave, 83% recycled nylon and 17% elastane, with a PFC-free water-resistant finish. The mens have eight pockets and the womens six, both with two zip-close cargo pockets.
Can I wear the Air-Grid on its own?
Yes. It works as a mid-layer or on its own, and a mens size M weighs 323 g. On cold mornings it sits under a shell or an insulated jacket.
