Behind the Scenes: New Manufacturing Partners & What's Next for Zorali
Ever wonder what actually goes on behind the scenes at Zorali? This past year, the answer is: a lot.
As we planned our move to Victoria, we popped the hood on pretty much everything — design, manufacturing, logistics, partnerships, all of it. That meant getting closer to where our gear is actually made, starting with our new factory partners in Indonesia. We flew out to Java to meet our new partners in person and enjoyed a factory tour with Simon, the factory director, and Inka, our line manager, walking the floor and seeing exactly how it all comes together, stitch by stitch.
Here's some of what changed:
Choosing makers who match our standards means tighter quality control, better fabric traceability, and stronger relationships with the people finishing every stitch, zip, and button before it reaches you. We ran multiple rounds of prototypes, testing fabric after fabric until we landed on the ones that actually held up.
We're keeping it simple, building alongside our makers from first sketch down to the last detail, because that's the only way to keep living up to the mantra we design against: highly functional, long-lasting, multi-purpose gear that supports positive experiences in nature.
None of this was about reinventing Zorali. It was about making sure the next chapter builds on the best of what we've already done, with better partners and sharper feedback loops than we've ever had.
The result is on its way: a new lineup of styles shaped by round after round of prototyping. We're almost ready to show you the first of many new styles to come.
