We took inspo from Australia’s 80-million sheep and created natural Merino Base Layers for nature-lovers.

Our favourite fibre, baaaa none

We’ve always loved merino fabrics. They help maintain a stable core temperature. They stay odour-free, even after sweaty exertion. And, as the old adage says, wet wool’s warm! So it’s the perfect fibre for outdoors time in changeable weather. What we love most about our Merino Base Layers, is that feeling of being wrapped in 100% natural Australian wool, and how that connects us more closely to our natural surrounds. Deep in the mountains or by the coast, as we walk, run, sweat, sleep, wake up and walk again, Merino wool is always, always, always our first choice.

100% natural wool fabrics made by Australia

Another thing we know about merino is that done wrong, things can get itchy. So in developing our Merino Base Layers we worked hard with our partners to hit that sweet spot of year-round warmth and lightness: which we now know is 170g rib fabric, made from 18.5 micron fibres. We also worked hard to ensure the environmental credentials of our suppliers, and we’re proud that all our merino products meet the Certified Woolmark Blend®, and Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) Certified standard. Since launching in 2023, our Australian Merino Wool Base Layers have quickly grown to become one of our best overall categories. And as devotees of merino ourselves (even in our sub-tropical Queensland surrounds), we know it’s just as much about the all-weather functionality as it is about our eye-catching colourways.

Good quality
The tank feels like it is good quality material, I like the design, it emphasises my muscular build. It is a little expensive, but i suspect that this is just the price of good quality merino clothing.

Nice except for armpits
This could have been an amazing tank - soft 100% merino, modest neckline, beautiful unique colour, skillfully finished inside and out. However, the armholes are huge! Perhaps this is intentional, as some women like to show off their sports bras, but personally I do not. When viewed from the side, my bra is visible, and leaning forward allowed a nice view inside the shirt. Viewed from the front, the bottom edge of the armpits flare outward. The cost to return is $30, which is almost half what I paid for the tank, so I pulled out my sewing machine and took in the sides. It turned out great and now I love it, but it’s sure disappointing that it had such a weird fit to begin with. Zorali, make the armholes smaller and I’ll buy one in every colour!

Lovely fabric, design mod?
I read a number of reviews before buying this tank. I like a high neck and all other brands of a similar tank had low necks. I saw one reviewer mention sewing up the large arm holes. I prefer a smaller arm hole too. But I'm going to wear the tank under a walking shirt, so will see how I go before adjusting mine. If Zorali make a similar tank with smaller arm holes I'd go for that.

So light to wear
I love my Merino tank, and have already sewn it in as I ordered a XL, forgetting that in Europe XL is a size 46, but US and AUS XL often is a 48. It was therefore unfortunately far too wide under the arm pit for me. But once sewn in, it still makes a wonderful to wear top, and I am very happy with it. Now I would just love to have it in other colours (not so dark, as usually I wear these sleeveless tops in the summer and do not wear a lot of dark colours in the summer time. How about a nice pale blue, pale rose pale lemon???
