Protecting our business means protecting our planet first. We can’t have one without the other – and, call us greedy, but we really want them both. As nature is our inspiration, we focus our efforts on keeping it calm and wild in the following ways…

By using natural fibres such as merino, hemp and organic cotton, alongside our recycled tech fabrics, we’ve got your back (and front, and legs and arms) with responsibly sourced materials fit for years of adventuring.

RECYCLED FIBRES
Recycled fabrics keep waste out of landfill, reduce demand for petroleum-based raw materials, and limit contamination of the air, soil and water.
HEMP
Hemp is breathable and soft. Plus it’s good at removing carbon dioxide from the air and keeping its impact lower than a drunken game of limbo.
ORGANIC COTTON
Organic cotton is gentle on your body, and doesn’t put chemicals or pesticides into the soil. And while its non-organic sibling takes pretty long showers, the organic kind is much better with water.
MERINO WOOL
Our merino wool is sourced from Australian farms, and provides natural thermal regulation, stretch, comfort, breathability, and odour resistance. Hardcore credentials, and one of the softest fabrics around.
LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENTS
We measure our core products’ environmental impacts across 13 metrics, from raw materials to manufacturing and distribution, to work with our suppliers and other innovators to find ways to be better.
ODDS & ENDS
Some of our favourite environmental initiatives are also the smallest. Like recycling our fabric waste. Making hangtags and labels from recycled materials. And shipping our products in compostable bags.

Sure, we like to escape the crowds and talk to trees. But we care deeply about humans, too. Our code of conduct ensures all the people in our supply chain are treated well, paid properly and have a safe spot to work. And we take time to chat face-to-face with our factories – when we can get the trees to hush, that is.

CODE OF
CONDUCT

All of our suppliers must sign our Code of Conduct before our working relationship begins

IN-PERSON
FACTORY VISITS

We take bi-annual trips to our factories to meet and work with the people who craft our gear. So we can chat face-to-face, marvel at their handiwork, and make sure everybody has the support that they need.

THIRD-PARTY
AUDITS

We work with third party experts who measure whether we’re living up to our promises, and the impacts of all our practices. Why? Because full transparency holds us to be fully accountable. And helps us focus our energy in the areas we can do better.

HONEST WAGES

All of our factories pay average wages over the minimum wage to their workers.

MEET OUR SUPPLIERS

We start every partnership with a simple question: “how can we support you?” Because when we work collectively on behalf of the whole, we don’t only create abundance — we create community. Here are some of our much-loved partners:

To ensure we’re living up to this claim, we joined an ecosystem of likeminded organisations, working hard so we all can wear our B-Corp certification merit badges with pride.

B Corp has put a microscope over Zorali’s operations and given us the green light. Ensuring high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. And we’re re-evaluated every 3 years. So we can keep sharing our best work.
The only thing we want to put into the air is our hair out the window (and a bit of morning breath, because we’re human). So we work with external experts to measure, offset and reduce our carbon emissions. To make us wildly, fondly, completely carbon neutral.
We donate 1% of revenue to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment. While we still have the chance.

We partner with Green Story to track our carbon footprint through the entire manufacturing process from farm to factory to freight.

Once we tally up the carbon emissions generated, we fund projects that remove those emissions through reforestation, solar farming and social initiatives.

MOUNT SANDY CONSERVATION

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Nestled between the Coorong National Park and Lake Albert in South Australia, this project protects one of the last pockets of bush and wetlands in the region.

UN SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT GOALS:
#13 CLIMATE ACTION: Climate change is a global challenge that affects everyone, everywhere.
#15 LIFE ON LAND: Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss.
#17 PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS: Revitalize the global. partnership for sustainable development.

AT A GLANCE:
- A mix of coastal shrublands and saline swamplands provide strategic habitat for iconic native wildlife
- Native plants for revegetation are supplied by the local nursery at Raukkan Aboriginal Community

PROJECT BENEFITS:
- 200 ha of strategic habitat protected
- 5 job opportunities created for Indigenous Ngarrindjeri Australians

ABOUT REFORESTATION:
These projects protect and restore forests which sequester carbon and help biodiversity to thrive. One mature tree in a forest sequesters around ~20kg of carbon every year.

HOW IT WORKS:
- EcoAustralia is a stapled product that blends carbon credits with biodiversity protection
- Each EcoAustralia™ credit combines 1 Australian Biodiversity Unit (ABU) with a 1 ton carbon credit
- Each ABU represents 1.5 m2 of government-accredited habitat protection
- Carbon credits for EcoAustralia™ are sourced from high quality international emission reduction projects certified by the Gold Standard

PROOF OF CARBON ACCOUNTING:
To ensure transparency, our partners at Green Story Carbon Registry tracks issuance and retirement of carbon credits for all projects on the Green Story offset platform.

We believe that good business allows us to do good things for the future. Big things. Planetary things. So, with our feet planted firmly on the ground, we’re aiming high across three planetary pillars:

CLIMATE ACTION

By implementing Environmental Management System (EMS), and conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) of our main products, we’re tracking energy supply and use, water consumption and waste. And now we’re using what we’ve learned to create an emissions
reduction roadmap — steering us on our path to net-zero

WATER HEALTH

Bodies of water stir something inside us. Yet, from irrigation for our organic cotton, to every drop we use at Zorali HQ, water is essential to our business. So we’re creating initiatives to respect it, protect it, and reduce our footprint. Like transitioning
away from known water pollutant chemicals, and cutting plastic and microfibre waste.

BIODIVERSITY

Animals, plants, fungi and microorganisms work together in ecosystems — maintaining balance and supporting life. Strikingly poetic. And also essential for everything we need to survive. Via initiatives like regenerative sourcing of materials, embracing organics, and supporting projects that restore habitat and protect wildlife, we’re helping to shore up biodiversity. Keeping natural systems complex for planetary health, and fascinating for generations to come.

It started with trees: 10 planted for every product sold. 751,650 and counting. But we also believe that building an Earth-positive future means giving back to the communities around us. So, while we still love planting trees, we’ve evolved our philanthropy efforts, eveloping two new funds/tributaries of our own to help do good things for people and planet.

NATIONAL PARKS
TRIBUTARY

We launched the National Parks Tributary to expand our tree planting efforts into a more holistic approach. And into Australian soil. Where we live, breathe and trek with wild abandon. With this fund we’re supporting reforestation initiatives, and also contributing to the conservation and protection of forests at a grassroots level here in Australia.

TRANSFORM
OUTDOORS TRIBUTARY

At Zorali, we know first-hand the restorative power of time spent in nature. Our next project is in the works, so keep your eyes peeled!

The fire in our gut won’t burn out like Sunday night campsite. It’s a roaring commitment to keep pushing hard for the good of the planet. Watch as we continue to update our goals and progress, as we deepen our contribution.
